"It's interesting, yeah, it's interesting," Seyfried, 40, told The Hollywood Reporter with a laugh at the Academy Museum Gala on Saturday, October 17, agreeing with the reporter that it's difficult to give interviews at the moment. "But, for a good reason. I don't know, I think everything that's happening is meant to happen [and] everything, everyone that's in your life is meant to be in your life. That's just, kind of, and I'm here tonight."
She continued, "I'm meant to be here, and I get to go home tomorrow and I'm meant to be home and so on and so forth."
When asked if her "interesting" life has made party chatter particularly challenging, she noted, "Only of late."
Seyfried didn't further elaborate on her comments, which even confused the actress after leaving the gala.
"What AM I even saying," she commented on Instagram footage of her interview.
The Testament of Ann Lee star attended the Academy Museum Gala solo on Saturday, dressed in an elegant, black strapless Prada gown with Tiffany diamonds.
"I went to L.A. with @tiffanyandco for a few hours, yes I did," she captioned red carpet footage via her Instagram Stories.

"Elizabeth Holmes is getting out this year," Seyfried, who played Holmes in Hulu's The Dropout , told the outlet about whether she wanted to meet the disgraced Theranos founder. "I don't [know]. Life is long. I think everybody's going through stuff, so I don't know. I don't know, I don't know; I love challenges."
While Seyfried laughed off the chances of meeting Holmes following her prison sentence for fraud, she also shut down the possibility of returning for The Dropout season 2.
"I don't think so," she candidly noted. "But, life is long."
Seyfried's Academy Gala night comes nearly one month after she announced her separation from Sadoski, 50, after nine years of marriage.
"We have been separated for a while, and it's proven to be the right move for us and our family unit," the now-exes told People in a joint statement. "We've got each other forever — and it's good."
Seyfried and Sadoski met in 2015 , playing a couple in the off-Broadway play The Way We Get By . After their respective breakups from Justin Long and Kimberly Hope , the costars reconnected on the set of 2017's The Last Word .
