The fan laughed and replied, "I love him!"
"Quick, get her some merch on me," said Shelton. "Luke Bryan. You've obviously been to one of his shows, right? You ever notice that he always does the,y'all sing along?"
"It's because he's too drunk to remember the words to his own songs," added the "Don't Mississippi" artist. "Drunk and high. Put that on YouTube. Put it on your Instagram."
The two musicians are longtime friends with a history of making fun of one another. In an October 2025 interview with CMT, Bryan joked thattheir rivalry is the only thing that keeps him goingafter the host noted he holds more No. 1 hits than Shelton.
"That's the only reason that I'm still in the game of country music, to stay ahead," Bryan quipped. "I thought he was retiring — he's back putting songs out. It's not the deal we had."
In an April 2025 appearance onJimmy Kimmel Live!, Bryan revealed he was once mistaken for Shelton. "My gas station that I live nearby... one of the attendants that works the cash register [mistook] me for Blake Shelton. That has been my worst thing in the neighborhood," he said at the time.
"He was so convinced. He's like, 'You're Blake Shelton. Tell me about being Blake Shelton.' He goes, 'Do you get that a lot?' I said, 'Not much,' " he continued.
"The guy looked and me, and he's like, 'You are Blake Shelton's doppelgänger... and he goes, 'Could you imagine what it would be like to have Blake Shelton's money?'" Bryan recalled, before joking:"Oh, what it must be like."
